DANISH APPLE BARS 
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 c. Crisco
1 egg yolk, beaten with milk to equal 2/3 c. (save white to brush on top of pastry)

FILLING:

8 to 10 apples
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
Corn flakes

GLAZE:

1 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. water

Peel, core, and slice apples. Mix with sugar and cinnamon. Set aside while making crust. Combine ingredients for pastry. On pastry cloth, roll out half of dough to fit within 1/2 inch of edge of cookie sheet, 10 1/2 x 15 1/2 inch. Place in cookie sheet and cover with corn flakes. Spread apples evenly on top of corn flakes and cover with top crust. Pinch edges together and brush top with slightly beaten egg white. Bake at 375 degrees for 60 minutes and starting to brown. Drizzle glaze on top of hot pastry. Cut into squares.
