HAMBONE SOUP 
1 1/2 to 2 c. meat chips and bone of ham or 2 ham hocks
2 qt. water
1 pt. or #2 can tomatoes
2 or 3 lg. white potatoes, diced 1/2 inch
2 or 3 lg. carrots, diced or sliced
1 (10 oz.) pkg. mixed vegetables
2 stalks celery
Dashes of pepper to taste
Dashes of salt, if needed (ham may be salty enough)
1 lg. onion, diced

Boil meat chips and bone or ham hocks in water for about 40 minutes. Keep covered with water. Crush tomatoes a bit and add to meat. Add other vegetables and seasonings to taste. Boil until vegetables are tender. This makes a delicious hearty main dish served with salad and corn bread or toast. About 10 servings.
