STUFFED CABBAGE 
1 lg. head green cabbage
2 lbs. ground meat
1 egg
2 tbsp. rice
2 cans tomato sauce
1 can water
Juice of 1 lemon
6 ginger snaps
Salt and pepper
About 2 tbsp. brown sugar to taste
1 c. raisins (optional)

Cut away core and place cabbage into boiling water. Boil about 15 minutes.

Prepare sauce: In a large pot, combine tomato sauce, water, lemon juice, ginger snaps, salt and pepper, brown sugar, onion, and raisins.

Prepare meat mixture: Mix together ground meat, egg, and rice. Roll meat into balls. Remove 1 cabbage leaf at a time. Place ball at stem of leaf. Roll meat inside cabbage halfway. Fold in the ends. Roll to the end. Add rolls to the sauce. Cover pot until it boils, while adding the cabbage rolls. Reduce heat and simmer for at least 2 hours. Makes about 10 cabbage rolls.
