1 3/4 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/3 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. vinegar
Raisins (optional)
Nuts (optional)
5 tbsp. oil or melted shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. water

Put all ingredients in pan and pour water over all and stir only until mixed. Bake 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees in a 9 inch square cake pan, ungreased.
