“DATE ROLL DELIGHT” IS IN:

DATE ROLL DELIGHT 
2 cups sugar
1 cup evaporated milk
1 cup pitted chopped dates
1 cup chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook sugar and milk, stirring occasionally, until mixture forms firm ball when dropped in cold water (244-248°F on candy thermometer).

Remove from heat; add dates, Return to heat and cook about 3 minutes longer, stirring constantly.

Remove from heat; add nuts and vanilla. Beat until very thick.

Pour candy onto a wet tea towel; roll into long roll like jelly roll. Chill until firm.

Slice as for jelly roll.

Cooks Note: Use of a candy thermometer is recommended.

Makes 25 servings.
