RICH DINNER ROLLS 
4 1/2 to 4 3/4 c. flour
1/2 c. warm water
2 pkgs. dry yeast
3/4 c. lukewarm milk
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs

Soak yeast in 1/2 cup warm water for 5 minutes. Combine lukewarm milk, sugar, and salt in large mixing bowl; stir to dissolve. Beat in shortening, eggs, yeast mixture, and 1 cup flour with rotary beater until smooth. Add remaining flour; mix until dough leaves sides of bowl.

Turn onto lightly floured board. Knead until dough become smooth, elastic, and no longer sticky. Place in lightly-greased bowl; cover with waxed paper. Let rise in warm place 1-1 1/2 hours. Punch down; shape into rolls and let rise until doubled.

Bake at 350 degrees 12-15 minutes. Yield 3 dozen rolls.
