BAKED LIMA BEANS | |
1 pkg. dried lima beans 1/2 c. brown sugar 1 med. onion, cut fine 1 c. ketchup 6-8 slices bacon (diced) & fried brown 1/2 tsp. dry mustard Salt to taste Wash beans and soak overnight or at least 5-6 hours. Add enough water to cover and simmer slowly until done. Cook without salt as it toughens the skin. Mix, add salt to taste and bacon. If too much liquid in which beans were cooked, remove some. Bake uncovered at 300 degrees for 2 1/2 hours. If more liquid, add liquid from beans. |
