PILAF 
1/8 lb. (3/4 stick) butter
1 handful crushed vermicelli
1 c. rice
2 c. chicken broth
1 tbsp. salt

Brown vermicelli in butter. Then add cup of rice and mix well. Add broth and salt and stir well. When most of broth has been absorbed, cover pot and lower flame. After all broth has been absorbed, turn off heat. Let stand awhile before serving. Serves 4-6.
