Drain juice from pickles and discard. Rinse pickles well ... many quarts as you have containers for at the same time. (I do a gallon at a time.)

Boil sugar, vinegar and celery seed for 5 minutes. Pour over pickles in jar and let stand for 3 or 4 days before using.
