FRESH APPLE BUTTER CAKE 
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. peeled, chopped apples
2 c. walnuts, chopped

Beat butter, sugar, eggs (1 at a time). Add flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir in vanilla. Fold in chopped apples and nuts. Pour into greased tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Cool 15 minutes before turning onto cake plate.
