HOMEMADE CHILI 
2 lbs. hamburger
1 lg. diced onion
1 lg. diced green pepper
1 diced garlic clove
1/4 c. chili powder
1/4 tsp. ground red pepper
1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
16 oz. can tomato paste
2 1/2 tsp. salt
1 bay leaf
2 (16 oz. or equivalent) cans red kidney beans

Cook hamburger, onion, green peppers and garlic stirring frequently until all juices evaporate and hamburger is well browned. Stir in chili powder and ground red pepper. Cook 1 minute. Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, salt and bay leaf over high heat to boiling. Reduce to low, cover and simmer 30 minutes.
