CORN CHOWDER 
4 diced potatoes
1 c. diced celery
1 c. diced onions
1 c. diced carrots
1 c. diced green pepper
1 c. corn, cut from the cob
2 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. sugar
2 c. milk
1 tbsp. parsley

Cook ingredients in slightly salted water until tender. Add corn; boil for 5 minutes, then pour off most of the water. Add milk, butter, sugar, and parsley. Bring to a simmer but do not boil. Season with salt and pepper and serve with crusty bread.
