SWEDISH BREAD 
4 sm. potatoes, boiled and mashed - save water
1 c. molasses
3/4 c. sugar
1 household yeast cake
2 heaping tbsp. shortening, melted
1 tbsp. salt
5 lbs. plus 2 c. flour

Boil potatoes in 5 cups water, save water and add enough potato water and tap water to make 5 cups. Add yeast dissolved in 1/2 cup water, add salt, sugar, molasses, melted shortening. Mix into a stiff dough. Let rise 1 1/2 hours; punch down and let rise again until double in size. Put in round cake pans or bread pans. Let rise again. Bake 45-50 minutes at 350 degrees.
