WHOLEGRAIN JAM SQUARES 
2 c. oatmeal, uncooked
1 3/4 c. flour
1 c. butter
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. chopped nuts
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. preserves (any flavor)

Combine all ingredients except preserves in large mixing bowl; beat at low speed until mixture is crumbly. Reserve 2 cups of mixture; press remaining in bottom of greased 9x13 inch pan.

Spread preserves evenly over base, sprinkle the rest of mixture over the top of the preserves. Bake in preheated oven (400 degrees) 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool, cut into squares.
