CHERRY OATMEAL BARS 
1 pkg. white cake mix
1/2 c. butter
2 cans cherry pie filling
1 1/4 c. rolled oats
1 lg. egg, beaten
1/4 c. brown sugar

In a large bowl, mix together the cake mix, just 6 tablespoons of the butter (melted), and one cup of the oatmeal. Reserve one cup of this mixture. To the remaining crumbs add one egg. Press this mixture into a greased 9 x 13 inch pan. (It is sticky so use waxed paper to spread it evenly in pan.) Put cherry pie filling on top of crumbs in pan. To the reserve mixture add 1/4 cup rolled oats, remaining 2 tablespoons melted butter, and the brown sugar. Sprinkle this mixture over the cherry layer. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 50 to 60 minutes. Remove when cherry layer is firm.
