PEANUT - BUTTER BARS 
2/3 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. dark brown sugar, packed
1/3 c. butter (5 tbsp. plus 1 tsp.), at room temperature
1/3 c. smooth or chunky peanut butter
1 lg. egg
3 tbsp. milk
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. salted, roasted peanuts, chopped coarse
1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Line an 8 or 9 inch square baking pan with foil. Lightly grease foil. Beat sugars, butter, peanut butter and egg in a large bowl with electric mixer until pale and creamy. Add milk and flour and beat just until blended. Spread in prepared pan. Sprinkle peanuts and chocolate chips over top. Bake 25 minutes for 9 inch pan and 35 minutes for 8 inch pan or until pick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool in pan on rack. Lift foil by ends to cutting board. Cut in bars. Makes 24 bars.
