CRACKER JACKS | |
2 c. brown sugar 1/2 lb. butter 1 c. light corn syrup 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla 2 gallon popcorn, popped dry, no grease or oil 1 c. peanuts, optional Pop 2 gallons of popcorn and place in large roaster. Combine in a saucepan: brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup. Bring to a boil and boil for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add baking soda and vanilla. Pour mixture over popcorn. Bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Pour out on waxed paper. Break apart. Peanuts may be added if desired. Keep in covered container. |
