PAT'S BEST BUTTERMILK WAFFLES | |
I use White Lily self-rising flour that I ordered from the factory to make biscuits. It is lighter than the flour we get up north. 3 eggs 1 1/2 cups buttermilk 2 tbsp. sugar 2 tsp. vanilla 1/2 cup (1 stick) melted butter 1 3/4 cups self-rising flour Note; May substitute self-rising flour for all-purpose with 1/2 tsp salt, 1 tsp. baking soda and 2 tsp. baking powder added. Whisk together eggs, buttermilk, sugar and vanilla. Slowly add in melted butter. Mix in flour in 3 batches and stir until just smooth. Bake in waffle iron until steaming stops.
