SUGARED WALNUTS 
2 1/2 c. walnuts
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Heat walnuts in oven at 375 degrees about 15 minutes, stirring nuts.

Cook sugar, water, cinnamon and salt to soft ball stage, 236 degrees on candy thermometer without stirring. Remove from heat. Add vanilla, stir in. Add nuts. Stir in gently until mixture becomes creamy. Turn out onto buttered plate and separate.
