STUFFED GREEN PEPPERS 
1 lb. hamburger
1 minced onion
1 1/2 c. bread crumbs
1 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 (8 oz.) can tomato puree
1 tbsp. vinegar
4 lg. or 6 med. green peppers
Ketchup or chili sauce

Cook onion and hamburger until lightly brown. Mix meat, crumbs, seasonings, tomato puree and vinegar. Remove stems and seeds from peppers. Cover peppers with boiling water, let stand 5 minutes, then drain. Stuff with meat mixture.

Arrange in shallow baking dish. Pour 1/2 cup hot water around peppers, cover and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Top each pepper with chili sauce or ketchup. Continue baking 20 minutes or until tops are brown.
