1 1/2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. Crisco
1/2 tsp. lemon extract
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Sift together flour, soda and salt. Cream shortening and sugar together. Add 3 medium size eggs, blend in then add sifted dry ingredients. Chill and roll out. Cut with cookie cutter, place on lightly oiled cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.

Ice with powdered sugar icing. For Christmas color icing red and green and use various shape Christmas cutters.
