FRUITCAKE BARS 
1 stick butter
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. flour
2 eggs
Pinch salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3 slices candied pineapple or mixed fruit
1/2 lb. candied cherries
2 c. chopped nuts

Grease a 9 x 12 pan; pour nuts in bottom and press. Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, flour, salt, and vanilla and pour over nuts. Sprinkle fruit over batter. Bake at 300 degrees for 45 minutes. Cut in bars while warm.
