FRESH APPLE CAKE WITH FLUFFY
FROSTING
 
CAKE:

1 1/2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
4 c. finely cut apples
1 c. whole bran cereal

FROSTING:

2 1/2 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
Nuts

Sift flour, soda, cinnamon and nutmeg. Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten eggs. Add pared, finely cut apples. Add cereal. Bake 40 minutes at 350 degrees in 9 x 13 inch pan; cool.

FROSTING: Cream butter and sugar. Cook flour and milk until thick. Cool. Add flour milk mixture to creamed butter, sugar. Beat and spread on cake. Sprinkle nuts on top.
