Cream together:

2 sticks butter
2 c. sugar

Add:

4 beaten eggs
1 tsp. each: cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, salt
2 c. blackberries with juice (canned)
3 c. flour
1 c. raisins
1 c. peach preserves

Add last...2 teaspoons soda mixed in 1/2 cup buttermilk. (Mix well, but do not overbeat.) Bake in 3 layers at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool. To stack... sprinkle powdered sugar between layers and on top. No other icing necessary unless desired. Keeps well.
