GREEN TOMATO PIE 
4 c. green tomatoes, thin sliced, heaping
Salt
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tbsp. vinegar or lemon juice
1/2 c. raisins or dates, chopped
1 pie shell, double crust

Sprinkle salt on sliced tomatoes and let stand while making crust. Squeeze tomatoes dry and put on a cloth after. Mix together all ingredients. (I put 2 tablespoons tapioca on bottom crust.) Fill the pie shell and dot with 1 tablespoon of butter, put on top crust and bake for 20 minutes at 450 degrees and then at 350 degrees, about 20-25 minutes or until done.

Can be frozen. Tastes like mincemeat.
