3 of the following uncooked pastas: 1 c. rigatoni, 1 c. mostoccioli, 1/2 c. rotini, 1/2 c. shell macaroni 1 lb. ground beef 1 med. onion, chopped 1 med. green pepper, chopped 3 oz. pepperoni, sliced (optional) 1 (15 1/2 oz.) jar spaghetti sauce 1 c. cream-style cottage cheese 8 oz. Mozzarella cheese, grated Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook pasta according to package directions; drain well. While pasta is cooking, brown ground beef with onion and green pepper until onion is transparent. Stir in pepperoni and cook until just heated. Drain fat. Add spaghetti sauce; simmer 5 minutes. Arrange half the pasta in a lightly greased 3 quart baking dish. Spoon on half the meat sauce. Spread cottage cheese over the sauce. Sprinkle with half the Mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers, omitting cottage cheese. Bake, uncovered, 30 to 35 minutes. Serves 8. |
