1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 stick butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. cinnamon, nutmeg and salt
1 c. quick oats
1/3 c. flour
1 1/2 c. hot water
1 tsp. baking soda

Cream sugars with butter and eggs (one at a time). Add water and oatmeal. Let stand until cool. Sift flour and dry ingredients; add oatmeal mixture to sugar mixture. Mix well. Add vanilla. Pour batter into a well greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
