APPLE FRITTERS 
2 eggs, separated
1 c. milk
2 c. all-purpose flour
3 cooking apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
butter, melted
sifted powdered sugar

Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored. Add milk and beat well. Beat egg whites (at room temperature) until stiff peaks form; gently fold into flour. Dip apple slices in batter. Fry in hot butter until golden brown and tender, turning once. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
