YEAST DOUGHNUTS 
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. salt
2 pkgs. dry yeast
1/2 c. warm water
4 1/2 c. flour
2 eggs

Scald milk. Pour into large bowl. Add sugar, shortening and salt. Soak yeast in warm water. Add to mixture in bowl. Add 3 cups flour and the 2 eggs. Add remaining 1 1/2 cups flour. Knead and let rise about 1 hour. Roll dough out 1/2 inch thick. Cut. Let rise again. Fry in hot grease. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
