CHILI FOR THE CROWD 
2 lbs. ground beef
1 tbsp. chili powder
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. minced green pepper
2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1 c. water
1 clove garlic, crushed
Pinch of ground cumin
1 (1 lb. 14 oz.) can sm. red beans, drained

Cook meat until it loses its redness. Sprinkle with chili powder, salt and sugar; blend well through meat. Add onion and green pepper; cook, stirring occasionally until vegetables soften. Add tomato sauce, water, garlic and cumin; simmer, uncovered 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until desired consistency. Add beans. Simmer, makes 2 1/2 quarts.
