CHOCOLATE CHERRY CAKE 
1 c. butter
3 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 (8 oz.) jar maraschino cherries (drained)
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. brown sugar (packed firm)
2 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3 sq. unsweetened chocolate

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs, beat hard. Add flour, soda and salt to mixture alternating with milk. Add melted chocolate. Fold in maraschino cherries and vanilla. Bake in 2 (9 inch) pans for 35 minutes.

ICING:

1 box confectioners' sugar
1 stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla
4 or 5 tbsp. milk
2 sq. melted chocolate

Mix all together.
