CHOCOLATE CHERRY CAKE 
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
1 c. sugar
1 sq. melted sweet chocolate
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 bottle maraschino cherries (save juice)

Blend 1/2 cup butter, 2 eggs and 1 cup sugar. Add 1 square melted sweet chocolate and 1 cup buttermilk. Blend in slowly 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 1/2 cups flour, and 1 teaspoon baking powder until consistency is smooth. Then add 1 bottle of maraschino cherries (each cut in half), 1 teaspoon vanilla, and the cherry juice from the jar to entire mixture and mix. Put in 9 x 13 inch baking pan and bake at 350 degrees for 1/2 hour. Top with chocolate frosting of choice.
