STIR-FRIED CABBAGE 
Try stir-frying some cabbage for a change of pace. The proportions are hard to list, since it depends on how many people are to be served. Here's a list of ingredients along with preparation method.

Bacon
Onion, finely chopped
Cabbage, shredded
Red pepper (crushed)

Fry the bacon until crisp. Remove from skillet. Cook, then crumble. Reserve drippings.

Preheat bacon drippings until hot. Cook onions in hot grease until limp but not browned. Shred the cabbage very fine and add to the skillet. Stir fry until very limp and done, slightly wilted, but still crisp. Do not cook until brown. Stir in the crumbled bacon and add crushed red pepper to taste.
