CARAMEL BARS 
64 Kraft caramels
2 c. flour
1 c. evaporated milk
2 c. oatmeal
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. butter
1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped walnuts or pecans

Melt caramels with evaporated milk in double boiler, stirring until smooth, set aside. Mix flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, soda, salt, and butter. Press 1/2 of mixture onto a 18 x 20 jelly roll pan or a 10 x 15 cookie sheet and an 8 inch square pan. Bars should be 3/4 inch thick when cooked.

Bake 5 minutes at 350 degrees. Then sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts over cooked crust. Spread caramel mixture over that, and sprinkle other 1/2 of crumbs mixture on top. Bake 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees until golden brown. Cut while still warm.
