STUFFED CABBAGE | |
1 head cabbage 2 lbs. hamburger 1 c. rice 2 eggs 1 sm. onion 2 tbsp. oil 1 (29 oz.) can tomato sauce 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce 1 tbsp. brown sugar 1 tbsp. vinegar 1/2 c. ketchup Steam cabbage, remove leaves. Mix sauce, brown sugar, vinegar and ketchup; set aside. Mix meat, rice, eggs and onion. Make into 8 to 10 balls. Roll balls into cabbage leaves. Put cabbage rolls on bottom of pan, cut 1 (1") cut on top of each roll. Pour sauce mix over top. Bake in Dutch oven at 200 degrees or on stove at medium for 1 1/2 hours. I put one or two rolls and some sauce in a ziplock bag and freeze for quick meals. |
