CHALLAH BREAD 
4 1/2 to 5 1/2 c. flour
2 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 pkg. dry yeast
1/3 c. butter
1 c. warm water
4 eggs
1 tsp. cold water

In a large bowl mix 1 1/4 cup flour, sugar, salt, and dry yeast. Add melted butter and water; beat 2 minutes. Add 3 eggs and 1 egg white (reserve 1 yolk for later). Add 1/2 cup flour and beat for 2 more minutes. Add the rest of flour.

Put dough in warm place and let rise until double in size. Punch down and roll dough into strands. Then braid strands of dough together. And rubs with egg yolk. Bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
