CHINESE CHEWS 
3 eggs
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped dates
1 c. chopped pecans
Sifted powdered sugar

Beat eggs until thick and lemon colored; gradually add 1 cup sugar, beating well. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; add to egg mixture, beating well. Fold in dates and pecans. Spread batter evenly in a greased 13x9x2 inch baking pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 35 minutes. Cut into 3x1 inch bars; remove to wire racks to cool. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving. Makes 3 dozen.
