CHEESE BISCUITS 
2 qt. (2 lb., 4 oz.) flour
6 tbsp. double action baking powder
4 tbsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. shortening
3 1/3 c. sharp cheese, grated
3 - 4 c. milk

Mix and sift dry ingredients. Break up shortening and rub in; add grated cheese and mix lightly. Add milk gradually; mix to soft dough. Place half of dough on floured board and knead lightly. Roll to 1/3 inch thickness and cut with floured cutter. Bake at 425 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
