CHERRY CINNAMON COBBLER | |
1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. water 2 tbsp. cornstarch 2 to 4 tbsp. cinnamon candies 1 to 1 1/4 lbs. sour cherries Combine sugar, cinnamon candies, cornstarch, water, and cherry juice in saucepan. Cook over medium heat. Stir in cherries. Pour into 8 x 8 inch baking pan. 2 tsp. salt 6 tbsp. brown sugar 1/4 c. shortening 1 slightly beaten egg 2 tbsp. milk 1 tbsp. soft butter 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 c. chopped pecans Sift flour with baking powder and salt into mixing bowl. Add 3 tablespoons brown sugar and pecans. Cut in shortening until particles are fine. Combine egg and milk. Add to flour mixture and mix until all dry particles are moistened. Roll out to 14 x 12 inch rectangle. Brush with butter. Combine 3 tablespoons brown sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle on dough and roll up. Cut into 3/4 inch slices and place on cherries. Bake in 400 degrees oven for 25 to 30 minutes. |
