IRISH OATMEAL BREAD 
3 c. all-purpose flour, sifted
1 1/4 c. quick rolled oats
1 1/2 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
1/4 c. honey
1 1/2 c. milk
1 tbsp. butter

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease well a 9 1/2 x 5 1/4 x 2 3/4 inch loaf pan. In a large bowl, mix flour, oats, baking powder and salt. In medium bowl, using beater, beat egg with honey and milk to mix well. Pour egg mixture into oat mixture, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened - mixture will not be smooth. Spread batter in pan. Bake 3/4 hours or until tester comes out clean. Turn loaf onto wire rack and while still warm brush top with butter.
