BUTTERMILK POUND CAKE 
1 c. Crisco
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
3 c. flour (sifted once, then measure)
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
3 tsp. vanilla

Cream Crisco and sugar well. Add eggs one at a time and cream well after each egg. Sift flour 3 times with soda and salt. Alternate flour and buttermilk with mixture. Beat well after each addition. Add vanilla. Bake at 275 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes in any loaf or angel loaf cake pan. Grease and flour pan.
