1 1/2 tbsp. liquid sweetener
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. unsweetened applesauce
2 tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. raisins
1 c. chopped nuts

Cream sugar and shortening; add applesauce in which baking soda has been dissolved; add sifted dry ingredients; add raisins and nuts. Bake at 300 degrees on greased cookie sheet for 15 minutes.
