BANANA OATMEAL COOKIES 
3/4 c. Spry shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. mashed bananas
1 3/4 c. rolled oats
1/2 c. nuts, chopped or 1/2 c. raisins
1 1/4 c. flour, sifted
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 tsp. cinnamon

Cream shortening, sugar and egg. Add mashed banana, rolled oats and nuts. Add sifted dry ingredients, blend well and drop by teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 15 minutes at 375 degrees. Chocolate chips are optional).
