CARAMEL CUSTARD 
2 c. scalded milk
3 eggs
4 tbsp. sugar
4 tbsp. sugar (to caramelize)
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Caramelize 4 tablespoons sugar and add to scalded milk. Continue to stir until the caramel melts. Mix sugar, eggs, salt and flavoring, and pour hot mixture slowly over the egg mixture. Combine thoroughly. Bake at 300 in cups set in hot water.
