LISA'S SPAGHETTI SAUCE 
1 lb. turkey sausage
1 med. onion, chopped
3 cloves minced garlic
1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1/2 tsp. dry basil
2 tbsp. oregano
2 tsp. parsley flakes
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 bay leaves
1/2 fresh tomato, chopped (optional)
1/2 green pepper, chopped (optional)
1/2 lb. mushrooms or 1 sm. can (optional)
1 c. red wine or cooking sherry

Brown sausage. Add onion and garlic. Saute until onions are translucent. Add whole tomatoes, tomato sauce, and paste. Blend well. Add all spices and blend well. Add optional ingredients, stirring well after each addition. Bring mixture to a slow boil. Lower heat to a simmer and add red wine. Simmer over low heat for 1 hour. This makes enough sauce for 1 pound of dry spaghetti.
