MARION'S FRESH TOMATO SOUP 
4 lbs. fresh tomatoes, skinned (dip in boiling water - then cool) & processed
1 sm. onion, shredded with 6 whole cloves
2 ribs celery with leaves
3 sprigs parsley
1 bay leaf

Bring to boil. Simmer 2 hours and strain. Blend:

2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 tbsp. salt
2 tbsp. brown sugar

Add gradually 1 cup hot liquid. Stir to blend, add balance. Serve with sour cream and fresh basil.
