DILLED GREEN BEANS 
3 lbs. green beans, washed and whole or in 3-inch pieces
3 tbsp. pure granulated salt
2 tsp. mustard seed
Fresh dill
Garlic
Whole hot red peppers
2 c. white vinegar
1/3 c. sugar

Soak beans 30 minutes in ice water. Then cook in 1-quart boiling water with 1 tablespoon salt 5 minutes. Pack in hot sterilized pint jars with 1 head dill, 1 clove garlic, 1 hot red pepper, 1/2 teaspoon mustard seed.

Mix remaining salt, 2 cups water, 2 cups vinegar, sugar, in saucepan. Heat to boiling and pour over beans, fill to 1/2 inch of top. Seal and process 5 minutes.
