PECAN BALLS 
1 c. sifted (see note) all purpose flour
1/2 c. soft butter
1 c. finely chopped pecans or hazelnuts
2 tbsp. granulated sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Confectioners' sugar

1. In large bowl, combine all ingredients except confectioners' sugar. With hands, mix until thoroughly blended. Refrigerate 30 minutes.

2. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 375 degrees. Using hands, roll dough into balls 1 1/4 inches in diameter. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets.

3. Bake 15 to 20 minutes, or until cookies are set but not brown. Let stand 1 minute before removing from cookie sheets. Remove to wire rack; cool slightly.
