FISH CHOWDER | |
1 lb. fish 2 c. cut potatoes 2 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 3 slices bacon 1/2 chopped onion 2 c. milk 3 tbsp. flour Cut fish into 2 inch squares. Cook potatoes in 2 cups water for 5 minutes. Add the fish, salt, and pepper. Simmer, covered, for 10 minutes. Cook bacon until crisp. Drain and crumble; reserve drippings. Cook onion in bacon fat. Add bacon and onion to chowder. Blend milk into flour, add to chowder. Stir constantly until it thickens. |
