6 lg. pear halves
4 tbsp. finely chopped walnuts or pecans
8 maraschino cherries
3 (4 oz.) pkgs. cream cheese
Green colored crystalized sugar sprinkles (or add green food dye to cream cheese instead of using sprinkles)
1 date
Few drops milk

Leave cream cheese out of refrigerate until soft. Drain pears and wipe dry with paper toweling. Fill hollow of pears with the nuts. Mash cream cheese with fork adding milk until a soft creamy consistency. Spread cream cheese over each pear covering pear entirely. Sprinkle the green sprinkles over the cream cheese spread. Cut 3 cherries in half to top tip of tree as a star. Chop remaining cherries very finely to use as tree lights. Place the date at the base of tree for its trunk. Place pears in a flat pan or cookie sheet to chill and serve on a flat small dish or butter dish.
